(executive) 11 AM 1st park
***Agendas,
minutes, notices and newsletters will be strategically placed in the two
parks, and on
the mailboxes by the "store". Look for them there. 3. Grass Cutting in the Parks: As decided at our closing meeting last fall, JJ Enterprises will be attending to our grass cutting needs throughout the season. As many of you are aware, the parks we enjoy belong to the estate of Thomas McRae. Wanting to keep the deeded right of access to such parks in the hands of those who live or cottage on the original McRae farm, we, as an Association, have agreed to look after the upkeep on such lands. 4. Park Cleanup: We need one to two hours of your time in the park closest to your dwelling on Sunday, June 20th at 1:30 p.m. Please bring a rake, a shovel, a paper leaf bag, your muscles and a sense of humour. Together we can make a difference for all to enjoy. Note: long grass indicates debris to be removed. 5. Bingo and Field Day Prizes: We are looking for donations, particularly those of interest to our adult members, to round out our prize roster. If you work for, own and/or patronize a company that would like to donate an item(s) to our Beach Association, please bring the donation to 64 Blue Heron at your earliest convenience. Perhaps you yourself would like to make a personal donation. Please attach a "donated by" card to your item(s). All donations will be formally acknowledged. 6. Community Garage Sale: For those who choose to participate, Saturday June 19th, 8AM-1PM (rain date Sunday, June 23rd) has been locally advertised as McRae Beach Street Sale. Simply set up your sale items on your lawn/driveway and "let the good times roll".
At our last general meeting (September 2003) it was decided that our fees for the year 2004 should remain at $25/household and that the fee structure be reviewed at the next annual meeting (Sept./04). Our Treasurer, Pat Roughley and her team will be collecting the fees beginning this weekend. Make your cheque payable to McRae Beach Association and ensure that your beach address is included. A membership card will be provided once your fees have been received. Your card entitles you and your family to participate in all activities arranged by your Beach Association and to vote at general meetings (1 vote/household). Currently a significant percentage of the fees collected go to our annual field day and to maintaining our parks for all to enjoy. The privilege of an open space for a game of baseball/volleyball, a place to launch watercraft, 150+ feet of unobstructed shoreline to view our fabulous sunsets, the aesthetics of well-maintained green space during an evening walk, a place to chat with friends and neighbours throughout the day is all ours for a mere $25/household per year. Please pay your fees before July 11th. After that time a list of paid member will be posted. 8. Welcome Newcomers! We extend a hearty welcome to all who have made McRae Beach their permanent or summer address since last season.
